Dynamic Dual-Threshold Virtual Machine Merging Method Based on Three-Way Decision

Cloud computing, an emerging computing paradigm, has been widely considered due to its high scalability and availability. An essential stage of cloud is the virtual machine migration technology. Nevertheless, current trigger timing in data centers inaccurate, resulting insufficient consolidation. Furthermore, low workload fluctuations are also a potential symmetrical problem worthy attention. This paper proposes energy-saving merging method based on three-way decision (ESMM-3WD). Firstly, we need calculate load fluctuation physical divide into three parts. corresponding mathematical model predicts according different classification categories. Then, predicted value used dynamically adjust threshold improve merge probability. Finally, simulation experiment carried out platform cloudsim plus. The experimental results show that proposed this can better reduce number migrations, increase machines shut down, probability merger, achieve purpose reducing energy consumption center.
